Born in Lithuania and based in Germany, Izabelė Kuzelytė is a contemporary circus artist specializing in aerial acrobatics, with a secondary focus on acrodance. She works across Europe, combining performative and creative projects with teaching technique and movement to the international community.
Izabelė Kuzelytė is a Lithuanian contemporary circus artist currently based in Munich. Traveling across Europe, she is dedicated to reshape audience's perception of circus. Believing in its potential to be bold, experimental, and emotionally evocative, using modern tools to push the boundaries of the art form and re-imagine it for contemporary times.
With eight years of professional experience, her education ranges across technical training at FLIC and participation in courses and workshops to enhance creativity or refine technique. These experiences have helped her develop a distinctive performance style, combining circus and dance focusing on fluid, fragile and expressive movement.
Izabele’s performances have been showcased in a wide array of contexts, including festivals, theaters, local productions, cabarets and corporate events. She is a core member of two contemporary circus collectives, Taigi Cirkas and Art for Rainy Days. In 2024 she became a Circus Next laureate.
Through her artistic lens, she constantly challenges the limits of circus arts, crafting immersive and thought-provoking experiences for audiences. She draws inspiration from Surrealism and Absurd movements also highlighting the importance of experimentation, relevance and novelty.
